Loss is the New Complete

Installation with sound, 3D printing, clay sculpting, prints

Like Freud’s words “A dream is the satisfaction of desire”, ancient fragmented statues are the culmination of time and history,  and the connection between us and them is deeper than we realised.

Zale Zhou(|u:n|) is an artist/musician whose practice explores the interaction of different media with a focus on the bypass of time and space. Through collaging/reimagining images taken from the British Museum and scanning/breaking/resculpting their self-portrait, the project intends to develop the relationship between ancient/historical statues and modern/personal human loss.
