I consider myself a multi-disciplinary artist, based in the Southeast, that works in the realms of video, sculpture and set design. My work explores dystopian realities, looking at conflicts between nature vs man, technology and environmental issues, while situated in a science fiction lens. The works often take form in dark imagery, perplexing structures and juxtaposition between our current reality and science-fiction realities. I hope to cause the viewer to be both, unsettled and engrossed by the atmospheres I build within these worlds, while also challenging the viewer with questions about the fate of our own.
I have been absorbed by my own questions of the earth’s future, the natural world and post-humanism and what this looks like for the environment. With examples of dystopian realities present in the world today; in the climate crisis, exacerbation of technology and growing global tensions, I craft 3D elements to build fictional worlds that I think could be possible in our own future. What would the world look like post-human?
