Our brief asks us to work on retrofitting an existing bus station into a modern GP surgery that focuses on local health care and the training of new health care professionals which will also explore the re-population of the town centre with new programmes by also including a social prescribing element to the project. This aims to improve not only the physical but the entire well being of the community, as the GP element provides health care while the social prescribing helps to bring in life and energy, aiding the community in more than one way.

My design includes the Station and the adjacent Depot that had been retrofitted to accommodate 22 GP employees and the Client’s Brief. Along with a large farmer’s market, cafe and a flexible exhibition space. The main concept behind the design is circulation; the continuity of it, how natural flows come to exist and how new spaces can be made through design.
