Small Changes
My third-year undergraduate project, in Studio 11, explores the notion of “contact” as an investigatory tactic to begin to reveal the connections that underlie our material and social worlds. Applying the studio’s ethos of experimentation through making and drawing, my investigation looks through three lenses:
• The architectural lens – how materials and spaces meet
• The sensory lens – how we feel the places we occupy
• The relational lens – how we make contact with each other and how we communicate, share and express the worlds we are a part of
Situated along the bank of the River Ouse in the nearby medieval town of Lewes, my designs respond to one of the most exciting and experimental development sites in the UK.
