Il-Ġebel (The Stones) is a book about my grandmother’s house in Żejtun, Malta, and its life before it was demolished. I aim to bring awareness of the urbanisation which is happening in old towns and villages in Malta. I have drawn the rooms of the house throughout the years from memory and photographs. This work is inspired by how I feel about rapidly changing urban environments. It explores what happens to a memory once it physically is not there anymore.
