Blinkered is a sustainable unisex fashion collection inspired by Japanese art-form Kintsugi as a manifestation of Japanese approach Wabi Sabi; an aesthetic appreciation for all things impermanent. I use a range of gold embellishments and embroidery and second hand materials throughout my designs to nod to Kintsugi; an art form that traditionally mends broken ceramics with gold to celebrate the impermanence of the object. Horse blinkers and falconry masks also informed silhouette and introduced the use of dead-stock leather to represent the technological human blinker our phones have become.
