‘Bronze world’ is a research project based on my original love of history and cultural relics. In the process of looking for inspiration for the course, I chose to look for my inspiration on the way. Short trips and visits to different exhibitions and museums have given me a lot of inspiration and ideas.

I have been thinking, how can I combine my major and hobby to carry on the research? In the end, I chose the project of digitizing cultural relics. In fact, many people are already doing this, but I want to experience and study the process of digitization of cultural relics from now on. I will model from the Gayar-Anderson Cat of Egypt at the British Museum, and then build interactive content with some new skills and experiences for me.

Digitization makes it possible for cultural relics to be permanently preserved without being eroded by time. It also allows the audience to zoom in and out the model of the cultural relics from the electronic screen and see the details of the cultural relics from more different angles. This is incomparable with the exhibits in the glass case.

In fact, when I do this project, I do not advocate a completely digital world in the future. I just want people to appreciate and observe cultural relics from more angles and experience the charm of cultural relics. I know that maybe for some young people, going to the museum is a boring thing, and history makes people want to doze off. So innovative interaction may attract more young people’s attention to these furnishings full of history and stories.

In addition, due to the moment of the epidemic, especially after the blockade. I think people are more aware of how important it is to go out freely and safely. Digitizing cultural relics and creating AR effects will enable people who like cultural relics to build museums and pavilions anytime, anywhere, regardless of time, space and location.
