The eye: penetrate
Materials: fabrics, clothes, stockings, paints, video
Youngjoo’s work is a philosophical and artistic consideration that began with ‘Eye’. She is fascinated by the eyes that could observe, feel, and judge most directly. She sends a message that eyes can observe everything and penetrate beyond observation. She combined deep-sea fish and angels to create a new character of high-dimensional existence. She embodies a character that exists on a higher level than every life on Earth through the images of angels depicted in the Bible and the deep-sea fish that disfigured when they come up to the ground. Youngjoo played a high-dimensional character who is mixed between people, but actually penetrated them all through ‘I penetrate you’. The character is penetrating everyone through his eyes. She also conveys the message of penetration once again, expressing the appearance of an angel through ‘Do not fear’.
