Project – “Fenchurch Energy Tower”
What would happen if high rise buildings in the City of London produced ALL the operational energy that they required? This project takes an imaginative approach to bringing sustainable power generation to the city whilst providing green and exhilarating public spaces. The two main focusses are solar energy and amusement. The project site is 20 Fenchurch Street, the current location of the ”Walkie Talkie”.
Studio 099 seeks to challenge the mono-functionality of high rise buildings, relatively new additions to the urban landscape which have become spatial solutions for housing and offices. The investigation sets itself up in the City of London and the brief encourages one to push the boundaries of what a high rise can be. The aim is to generate complex spatial environments of the future.
