Saule Juciute
I am a Lithuanian born artist living in the UK who specialises in multimedia-based work, with a stronger emphasis on sculpture and painting. My art is typically a reflection of things that bring me creative joy and visual pleasure. Currently my passion manifests itself as anthropomorphic dolls, such as ‘Mauve’, ‘Finnick’ and ‘Trudy’, sculpted from polymer clay and made posable with wire armature bodies. To help these dolls come to life, I create intricate environments such as the dollhouse, ’94 Greenwood Reach’.
‘94 Greenwood Reach’ began life as a collection of wood, card, and miscellaneous objects, but became the home and studio of a rodent by the name of Mauve. Sculpted from polymer clay and made posable with wire armature bodies, guests like the avian Finnick and the amphibious Trudy occupy the spaces within Mauve’s home. With cool dark colour palettes and a moody and realistic atmosphere, a feeling of nostalgia is brought out with its gothic style. This artwork is a pure display of self-expression with a focus on simply creating something for the eyes to explore and the mind to expand.
As an artist, my objective is to continue working on things that allow me to express my hobbies and interests in a way that appeals to a wider audience. Aside from my own personal enjoyment, I am motivated by seeing others enjoy my art, so I am eager to look for possibilities to display my works. Alongside this I aspire to be able to sell my art to those wanting to experience it from the comfort of their own homes.
