Poppy Amor-Leng
Conjuring a relationship between radiation and nature, my project has taken a decorative approach to explore how dangerous radiation could be to wildlife and what mutations it could potentially create. I have made my project exciting by producing a variety of hypothetical fantasy creatures and mix-matched animal prints to demonstrate the cross-over between radiation and nature.
Exploring different stages of radiation exposure, the mutations/oddness gradually builds throughout my prints. I have taken inspiration from how children’s cartoons such as Spongebob and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles positively portray radiation to their audience.
Created for the home, my prints have been specifically designed for curtains, cushions, bedding and sofas. Inspired by brands such as Gucci and Emma J Shipley, I have gone crazy with colour and patterns making it perfect for the maximalist home.
