Intrigued by folktales and stories passed down for generations, my work is an intricate and slightly humorous take on morals taught to us from ancestors in the form of a horror mockumentary inspired by films such as The Blair Witch Project (1999). The video piece tells a story of a young person trying to right the wrongs of a rumour about devilish mishaps regarding local families’ pets. Despite persistent warnings from her mother about the dangers of being in the woods late at night – as well as stranger danger – the protagonist ventures out against the wishes of others, only to find out she definitely should have stayed at home.
