In my work I have been interested in the concepts of the grotesque, exploring the darker aspects of human nature. I want my work to be both unsettling and thought provoking. From challenging viewers to confront their own fears and prejudices.
Looking to create a face that can display imagery inspired by life, death and rebirth. A reflection on the human experience, the cycles of existence and also reflecting on my own personal experiences and beliefs related to these ideas and how they’ve shaped my own understandings.
Looking upon aspects of fear, vulnerability and Decay do we consider the grotesque fearful, or can we tap into our vulnerability and find beauty in the Grotesque?
