‘Paper Flowers’ is a collection of prints made through a hybridisation of traditional printing and 3D scanning. From experimenting with this imaging technology and creating point clouds cataloguing plant life in local areas, to then project this onto silver gelatine paper, the project explores the photographic image and its materiality in a post-digital context. On first glance the images appear as photograms, but on closer inspection traces and artefacts of the digital process are left behind, such as the pixels of the projector printed into the paper, and the many thousand dots that make up each subjects point cloud.
