The grassroots football movement was created in response to a culture that is unwelcoming or exclusionary. Football is an overwhelmingly white male space; the absence of diversity asphyxiates aspiration.
There is a need for a different perspective when viewing sport and voices that are relatable to a wider audience.
Football often acts as a symbol: a metaphor for passion, vulnerability, belief. It is used as a tool to come together and build a community of diverse people wanting to have a meaningful and positive impact on society that goes beyond the pitch.
