Kira Lehane is a documentary and portrait photographer graduating from the University of Brighton. Working with both analogue and digital technologies Lehane documents the world through her eyes and highlights the beauty in the everyday. Her current body of work shown here is titled The Art of the Performer. The Art of the Performer is a documentary project exploring the culture of street performing in the UK, specifically London. The work consists of portraits, and street style photographs to compile a body of work that represents the life of a street performer. The work aims to tell the story of street performing from all angles, not just from the audience’s perspective. There is so much that a person can miss with street performing and her work helps to gives recognition to performers and show the world the whole art of the performer.
