My interests within expressionism have led me to embrace the use of texture and colour within my works (hand-painting backgrounds that are then edited and boiled digitally), seeking to encapsulate emotive stories. My final project, Waves, engages with concepts of struggle, identity and hope. Utilizing frame-by-frame animation to capture life and energy within my scenes, my visualized narratives draw upon fantasy aspects to create characters and feats that anyone can engage with and relate to.

‘Waves’ is an abstract approach to telling a story of overcoming overwhelming situations you feel trapped within, your days feeling like you are forced to battle against supernatural forces in order to catch a breath of air. The ultimate revelation of the film being that there is a world outside of the troubles you find yourself caged within.
