For my final project ‘positive places’ I researched my hometown Letchworth Garden City and drew inspiration from photography I took when visiting. Capturing the vibrant flowers, wide fields and history of the place was what really made this project come together. I also looked at Portmeirion a small village in Wales as a source of inspiration with its bright colourful houses and a village so well planned I grew more and more interested. Finding photography online and designing from this. Another aspect to this project was sustainability I mainly used deadstock yarns, organic cottons, linens and ecological yarns. I believe for the future of textiles this is an important aspect to consider. I really enjoyed this project and the overall samples reflect my passions as a designer being a range of colours, nature and sustainability. I created different mood boards to reflect the different themes of this project overall!
