My practice revolves around using repetition and iteration through limitations, in subject or medium, to explore the potential of an image, or a tool, or an idea. In this project using the visual limitation of a black square as the impetus.
In this exhibition, a flat rectangle, a set of uneven grids of straight lines, and a grid of hand drawn squares, are iterated in various ways through the printing process to create three series. Individually each series explores the possibilities of a single collection of lines through the printing and image making process. Collectively they explore the form of rectangles and squares.
