Lagvis

“Lagvis” is a project exploring the different aspects of identity. In it I’ve deconstructed my own identity, by separating these aspects, examining them, turning them into visual graphics, and putting them back together again. It is a very personal project, and my aim was to understand myself better. The outcome is a wooden box and a small book.

The wooden box is made by Norwegian spruce, and holds seven resin slides with visual graphics. The slides that can be taken out, rearranged, flipped and rotated. Each slide represents a different aspect of my identity, and together they form my full identity, contained by the box.

The companion book provides more insight about the project as well as explanation for each slide. The pages explaining the slides folds out to reveal a full scale photo, as well as more information. It has a soft cover and is hand bound. The front cover is all the slides layered together.
