As a womenswear designer I enjoy fusing typically feminine styles with masculine elements. I enjoy playing with volume and proportion within my designs, creating interesting layered silhouettes, always focusing on craftsmanship and construction. Untied is a collection inspired by the ways of wearing and deconstruction of hand-me-down clothing. Exploring themes of make do and mend by developing silhouette and form on the body, these pieces express the conscious and unconscious ways children style their clothes. The pieces in this collection and the many ways they can be styled, embody a uniqueness and individual spirit, portraying a contradiction of fragility and fearlessness, both embracing and rejecting traditional notions of femininity.
