Being inspired by socio-political climates, my work is either responding or reacting to matters that I feel passionately about. I enjoy a range of mediums from analog and digital photograph and film to illustration and typography.
For my Summer of Love campaign I focused on combating stigma, raising awareness and promoting testing for HIV. My posters, which I wheat pasted around Brighton, are intended to shock the viewer in order to create conversation around a disease which is so highly stigmatised. I also created my typeface ‘Nota’ to be used within this campaign, inspired by retro bold typefaces Nota embodies nostalgia of the late 20th century when HIV/AIDS was at its most deadly. In order to bring the campaign to life I created condom packaging to go alongside the campaign, injecting activism, awareness and sexual safety into the community.
Within this past year I have also found my love for creating films, whether that is from my own footage (seen in Lust) or found footage (seen in #MeToo). My passion for sex education and feminist issues inspired me to create these short movies highlighting sensitive topics in an accessible way.
I am currently working on a sex positive instagram (@besexhappy) which is a safe space for sex education that welcomes anyone and everyone.
