The target was to developing a housing project on the site of the Moulsecoomb Library and Community Hall. The proposed scheme consists of 36 flats on the site. Demolition of part of existing buildings on site is required to facilitate development. The 36 flats are a mixture of 1,2 and 3 bedroom homes.
There are several points that need to be achieved in this housing project:
- Raise the possibility of retaining the parts of the existing buildings.
- Create simple and contiguous dwelling volumes and plans which feed the communidification of homes as units to be bought and sold.
- Explore the way in which parts of the territory of a home (from the city to the neighbourhood to the dwelling) can be shared.
- Focus on the use of stone and timber as major elements of structure.
