Courtney Ralphs’s work is to inform and reflect on her relationship with her skin and eczema condition, an issue often unspoken in the arts. She felt it was a necessary opportunity to open up this discussion of atopy eczema and create a platform for understanding and interest through the media of sculpture and imagery. She expresses this concept by investigating and expanding on her photo-infused and re-photographic method, using alternative media materials such as clay and textured material to explain this condition. Her studies at Brighton University in BA Photography allowed her this expansion in exploration and media involvement.
