Amber Warner
Stourhead National Trust – Wiltshire, UK
Our brief asks us to re-design the already existing visitors centre at Stourhead National Trust, as well as adding a Sentinel into the protected landscape.
I have chosen to be carbon conscious and keep as much of the existing visitors centre and buildings as possible. I want to use the local quarries and businesses to reduce the carbon footprint of the re-design. By using stone it not only complements the existing house and pavilions but is also better for the environment. By building into the existing structure not only saves on material by has made me become more creative to achieve a successful design.
